Motor neuron of the ventral nerve cord that innervates a muscle of the neck (Phelps et al., 2021; Cheong et al., 2024). It has its soma in the prothoracic neuromere and receives input in the neck neuropil (Phelps et al., 2021. (Phelps et al., 2021, Gorko et al., 2024)
Cheong et al. (2024) note that some neck muscle motor neurons have somas in the brain.
