Its postsynaptic sites are found in the anterior superior medial protocerebrum (Saumweber et al., 2018). It develops from a CP neuroblast (Saumweber et al., 2018).

Saumweber et al. (2018) found this neuron in the L3 larva, but were not able to identify it in the L1. Lineage given as CPd2/3 in Saumweber et al. (2018).
